Adelante!

Move forward! Every day we have the opportunity to move forward in our relationship with God.

Transcript

[Steve Myers] It was a great adventure. Just three days before reaching the new world, his crew begged him to turn back because they might not be able to make it back to Spain. But Christopher Columbus had one word for his crew. The story goes this one word was "adelante." Adelante which means forward. Move ahead. And so, within three days they discovered the New World.

Adelante, a word with so much meaning for us as God's people as well. I think there's a valuable lesson when we just consider that one word, onward. There is so much more for us to learn about God's way. So much for us to learn about who God is. What His character is like. What it's like to grow in a relationship with Him. Adelante. It encapsulates what's written in Philippians.

In the book of Philippians, we read a little bit about this concept. In Philippians 3, beginning in verse 12. Philippians 3:12 says this, "I press on, forgetting those that are behind, and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

You see, Adelante. Press on no matter what the challenges are. No matter what the difficulties. No matter what the trials we may be facing, go forward. God wants us to move ahead spiritually. He wants us to learn more. Learn more spiritual lessons. More about God. More about our Savior Jesus Christ. There's so much more to the Word of God than we've discovered yet. So, adelante.

That's "BT Daily." We'll see you next time.
